Angelina M. Turner came into visual arts quite by accident. A scheduling mix-up led Turner to finding herself in ninth grade art class; shy and in desperate need for a compulsory arts credit, she decided to stay and try and learn a thing or two. One day while working on a cross hatching assignment, the teacher bent down and told her that she showed a lot of promise as an artist. Later in the semester, the young Turner was shocked and delighted to find that same cross hatching assignment was in the Annual Spring Showcase. From then on, she vowed to live up to the potential her teacher saw in her.
